MAVURELI

Privacy policy

Last updated 17 September 2026 · Applies to the current pre-release app

MAVURELI helps you organise food, shopping, recipes and meals. Most household information stays on your device. Some features use online services when you choose to use them.

Information you add

The app handles the Kitchen stock, shopping items, recipes, meal plans, cooking history, household preferences, settings, photos and product details you enter or choose. This version does not require a MAVURELI account or connect household data to cloud sync.

Information on your device

Household records and learned product choices are stored in the app's local storage. Photos chosen for products or recipes may be kept as local files or local file references. Removing the app or losing the device may remove information you have not backed up. You can export a manual household backup through Settings; the file includes household records but not the photo files themselves. Keep a backup private and choose where to save or share it.

Camera, photos, voice and notifications

The app requests camera or photo-library access when you choose a related feature. Barcode scanning reads a code; a barcode lookup may then contact the providers named below. When you choose loose-food photo recognition, a compressed image and any name hint you provide are sent through MAVURELI's online service to an AI provider to suggest an item. You review and confirm the result before it is added to Kitchen.

On supported Android devices, tapping the in-app microphone may request microphone and speech-recognition access to turn your question into text. On iPhone, the current app uses the phone keyboard's dictation instead of an in-app recorder. If you allow notifications, MAVURELI schedules cooking-timer and optional Kitchen date reminders locally on the device.

Online lookups and AI

When you look up a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts and UPCitemdb for possible product details. If you import a recipe from a link, the app requests the public page at the link you provide. When you choose Walter's online answer or an AI recipe draft, the question you enter is sent through MAVURELI's Netlify service to an AI provider, currently OpenAI. Your saved Kitchen, Shopping list and recipes are not automatically included with that question. Review AI-generated answers and food suggestions before relying on them.

If recipe-image generation is enabled in a future or configured build, a recipe title and limited ingredient names may be sent to MAVURELI's image service and its AI provider. This feature is not guaranteed to be available in every build.

Service providers and overseas processing

Online features may involve Netlify, OpenAI, Open Food Facts, UPCitemdb, and the public recipe websites you choose. These services may process requests and technical metadata outside Australia under their own policies. MAVURELI sends the information needed for the feature you request; online requests can also produce ordinary service and security logs. We do not sell your household information or use advertising or behavioural-tracking SDKs in this build.

Your choices and contact

You can edit or remove information in the app where those controls are available, decline an online Walter answer, deny device permissions, and export a manual backup. To ask about access, correction, deletion or a privacy complaint, contact support@mavureli.com. Please do not email passwords, payment information or unnecessary sensitive details.

We will update this policy if MAVURELI's features or data practices change. The app-store privacy answers should reflect the particular release submitted for review.
